Mr Francisco, Director of the NGO Ser Humano in The Gambia, stated: "Through this project of repairing and installing electrical systems, drinking water and sewage systems in four schools, we aim to contribute towards making educational centres safer, healthier and more dignified for children." These infrastructure upgrades serve to improve the daily learning environment for students in the region by addressing long-standing deficiencies in basic school services. By focusing on the core utility needs of these buildings, the project aims to stabilize the educational experience for the enrolled students.

Addressing the impact of the upgrades, Councillor Baboucarr Mansally stated: "Water and electricity are not luxuries in our schools. They are essential services that contribute to a safe, healthy and conducive learning environment. By investing in these essential facilities, we are investing in the future of our children and the development of our nation."

Ida Faal, the headmistress of London Kids Kindergarten, noted that previous disruptions to water access frequently forced local schools to dismiss students early. Regarding the installation of the new borehole, Ida Faal explained: "At times, the water pump will go off and there will be no water. Most schools around will send their kids home when this happens. Now that we have the borehole, we no longer have that experience and we will have good quality and healthy water for our 49 nursery children." The completion of these works ensures that the infrastructure remains functional, allowing for consistent attendance and operation of the school day for the pupils.
